The HTI Center has several vehicles to allow collaboration with business
and industry.
Industrial sponsorship
Access to the Center's staff and students is available to Industrial Sponsors.
Details of this arrangement are detailed elsewhere in this announcement
or are available by contacting the HTIC.
Industrial partners
Specific long-term relations between the HTIC and industry can be established
and maintained by becoming an industrial partner. Each industrial partnership
is uniquely specified to produce a win-win situation for the partner and
the HTIC. Initial steps toward becoming a partner with the center can
be taken by contacting the director or those faculty most likely to figure
prominently in the partnership agreement.
RFP
The Center stands ready to respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals). Formal
and informal contacts regarding specific short-term projects are welcome.
Graduate Student Internship Program
We are willing to help coordinate our students' interest with the needs
of business, industry, and government.
REU sponsorship
The Center, under the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation,
hosts the visit of 10 to 15 of the brightest undergraduates in the country
for an 8-week research experience. As part of this experience, multidisciplinary
teams of interns work on projects and questions given by an outside sponsor.
REU sponsorship is free, but requires that a liaison be designated to
visit respond to student queries and to attend the culminating convention
held in Norman at the end of July. Priority goes to affiliates who have
some other sponsorship arrangement with the Center. Only three REU sponsorships
are available each summer. For details on REU sponsorship contact the
director.
