Goals
- HTIC's goals include advancing
research in human-technology interaction, especially in areas that are
important to industry.
- Partner's goals typically
include making more use of human-computer interaction research in their
business and finding quality personnel to work on related tasks.
Industrial Partners
These are corporations that sponsors HTIC's work financially. The sponsorship
monies would be used for HTIC administrative expenses, promoting HTIC's
activities, and supporting HTIC reserach (but not for specific projects).
The spending of the sponsorship monies would be at the discretion of the
HTIC director. Industrial partners would receive:
- all Technical Reports on research conducted at HTIC, as requested.
- reports on recent research results from the larger scientific community.
- direct, short-term consultation with HTIC faculty on research issues.
- direct access to students studying HTI issues for possible emplyment
as interns of more permanent positions, including HTIC faculty recommendations
on their skills.
- "Fast trac" for developing sponsored research projects on
specific topics.
- a seat on the HTIC Board of Visitors.
