his University Guide to Services has been prepared to provide University faculty and staff with an overview of the missions, programs, services and responsibilities of the various University administrative and service/support departments, along with links to more detailed information regarding specific administrative programs, policies, procedures and forms available on University departmental websites.
This Guide has been prepared and is maintained under the direction of the Office of Administration and Finance, which has the sole responsibility for placing approved subject matter in this University Guide to Services. Recommendations for additions and/or revisions to this University Guide to Services are welcomed.
All recommendations that provide additional information relating to University departments, programs, responsibilities, policies and procedures, which are in accordance with established policies, will be issued by the Office of Administration and Finance as a revision to this University Guide to Services. The Office of Administration and Finance will update this University Guide to Services periodically by reviewing each section with the responsible department.


The Vice President is a full-time position, which reports directly to the President. The Vice President is one of 22 University Officers at the University of Oklahoma and serves as the chief operating and fiscal officer. The Vice President is responsible for administering a budget of approximately $500 million annually. A staff of approximately 800 employees reports through the administrative structure to the Vice President. Departments within Administration and Finance are Architectural & Engineering Services, Budget Office, Controller, Human Resources, Parking & Transit Services, Physical Plant, Public Safety, Purchasing and Printing Services, and Risk Management.
The Vice President also serves as the President's chief of staff, manages the President's immediate office personnel, and serves as the liaison between the President and faculty and staff governance groups. The Vice President also coordinates communication between the President and other officers of the University, and serves as liaison for the community on behalf of the President.
