Most books will be given to the various volunteer groups associated with our U.S. military, located at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Oklahoma City. Each volunteer group will receive your books and magazines for distribution to both active military and veterans. Some books may end up in hospital waiting rooms and long term care facilities while others may be sent to local and overseas military bases and posts.
Some donated textbooks may be sold, with the monies donated to the Lexington Correctional Center Library for book purchases.
All books, new and used, hardback and paperbacks (fiction, non-fiction, children’s, cookbooks, textbooks, etc.)
All magazines (no more than 6 months old)
Audio Books, Video Tapes, VCR/DVD Movies
Please clean out your book shelves, drag out those old boxes of books, and help us pass on the pleasure of reading to our military men and women by donating your books. Thanks.
If you have no books to donate but would still like to participate, we are also collecting monies to benefit the inmate library at the Lexington Correctional Center.
