Program Description

OU's School of Music forms a rich musical environment that encourages inclusive excellence and interaction of its students. With more than 300 undergraduates from 40 states and 15 countries, students gain a truly global perspective of music. The General Fine Arts:Music emphasis within the school gives students an overall understanding of music through courses in music history, culture, theory, composition and performance. The faculty includes performing artists and scholars offering instruction in all of these music areas.

Many Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates go on to graduate school in music. Others will choose to make a career in the arts working in promotions or arts management. Some students pursue careers in the music industry, and others will choose careers outside of the arts.
