U.S. citizens/permanent residents
- Undergraduate Transfer - high school graduates with seven or more college hours after high school graduation
- Undergraduate Readmission - former OU students who have not attended OU for more than one semester and a summer session
- Graduate Admission and Readmission - master's and doctoral degrees
Non-Degree U.S. citizens/permanent residents
- Visiting Student - Graduate students in good academic standing at other accredited institutions wishing to take courses at OU
- Unclassified Graduate Student - students holding a Baccalaureate degree who wish to take graduate-level courses without pursuing a graduate degree
- Post-Baccalaureate Non-Degree - students holding at least a Baccalaureate degree who wish to take undergraduate courses without pursuing a degree, including students who wish to take undergraduate prerequisite courses for medical, dental, optometry, or veterinary schools. Students who wish to take graduate level courses without pursuing a degree should apply as an Unclassified Graduate Student
- Undergraduate Visitor/Special Student - non-degree, visiting students
