“I grew up in Valliant, a small town of about 800 residents, among the hills and trees of southeastern Oklahoma, and graduated in a class of 42 people. While the jump to such a larger school may have seemed daunting, when I got to OU, I found it not only offered me the educational opportunities I had hoped for but that it also had a very 'hometown' feel – and those same qualities still make OU truly stand out today.”

Congratulations on taking a very important step toward a dynamic future: your admission to the University of Oklahoma, a world-class institute of higher learning on a beautiful, safe, and exciting campus! At OU, you will have access to all the tools necessary to design, refine, and launch a life that is just as big as your own dreams.

I grew up in Valliant, a small town of about 800 residents, among the hills and trees of southeastern Oklahoma, and graduated in a class of 42 people. While the jump to such a larger school may have seemed daunting, when I got to OU I found it not only offered me the educational opportunities I had hoped for but that it also had a very “hometown” feel – and those same qualities still make OU truly stand out today.

The creative, invigorating atmosphere at the University of Oklahoma provided me with an ideal environment in which to explore and cultivate my dreams, as well as actually put them to work! I earned my undergraduate degree in finance and my law degree from OU’s College of Law. I have since practiced law in Oklahoma, worked at The White House, worked in New York City and in London, and continued my career in Los Angeles, where I currently serve as Senior Vice President of the Legal Division at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios.

The staff and faculty at OU effectively work together with me and other alumni on behalf of students, assisting in making contacts, setting up telephone and in-person discussions, and placing graduates directly into career and employment opportunities. Years after my own graduation I feel no less part of the OU family as we continue to work together to help current students launch their own paths to success.

With this letter I send my very best wishes to you and for your own exciting time at the University of Oklahoma. I hope that our paths will cross one day. In the meantime, believe in exactly who you are – and be that on purpose, believe in your dreams, and make the most of every single one of your potentials. You go for it!

Warmly yours,

Greg Julian
