![]() Kelly Damphousse |
Kelly Damphousse grew up in Canada and earned an associate degree in Law Enforcement from Lethbridge College in 1980. After working as a prison guard for three years, he attended Sam Houston State University - graduating with a BS in Criminal Justice in 1987. He worked in retail security for two years before beginning his graduate studies in sociology at Texas A&M University. His masters thesisexamined the etiology of Satanism among juvenile and his dissertation examined the long-term consequences of drug use by adolescents. His taught in the Department of Justice Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for one year and in the College of Criminal Justice at SHSU for two years. He began working in the Department of Sociology at the University of Oklahoma in 1997. He has directed several research projects, most notably the American Terrorism Study, the Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring project in OKC and Tulsa, and the first ever field test of voice stress analysis deception detection software. He has served as Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences since 2004. |
![]() Keri Kornelson |
Keri Kornelson is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma in the Department of Mathematics. After college, she spend three years living and working in England before beginning her graduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2001, then spent three years at Texas A&M University as a postdoctoral fellow. She worked as an Assistant Professor at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa from 2004-2008. In 2008, OU provided her with the chance to solve the "2-body problem" faced by dual-career couples everywhere. Her research involves properties of structures with self-similarity, such as wavelets and fractals. |
![]() Georgia Kosmopoulou |
Georgia Kosmopoulou is a Professor of Economics at the University of Oklahoma. She earned her BS in Economics from the University of Piraeus in Greece, and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She started her academic career at Virginia Tech in 1996. She joined the University of Oklahoma in August of 1997. Her areas of specialization are in Industrial Organization and Microeconomics. Her current research interests include topics in mechanism design, auction theory and applications, public economics, strategic pricing under incomplete information and consumer theory. |
Sheena Murphy |
Sheena Murphy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Oklahoma. She was awarded her S.B. in Physics from MIT and her Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University. She then moved on to postdoctoral appointments at IBM Research and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Her research interests now lie in the area of nanotechnology specifically how to harness the quantum mechanical properties of semiconductors for fundamental studies and commercial applications. |
Lori Anderson Snyder |
Lori Anderson Snyder holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Social Relations from Earlham College and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Colorado State University. Since 2004, Dr. Snyder has been part of the Psychology Department at the University of Oklahoma and is a research collaborator with the Center for Applied Social Research. Dr. Snyder’s research focuses on several aspects of the application of psychology to the workplace. Her interests include the experience of discrimination, organizational diversity climates, attitudes toward affirmative action, and the experience of subtle discrimination. In addition, her research program focuses on responses to feedback on work-related performance, such as multisource performance appraisal, developmental assessment centers, and issues of occupational health and well-being, especially aggressive and counterproductive behaviors. When away from work, Dr. Snyder’s interests include yoga and biking. She is currently focusing on balancing work with caring for a daughter born in March 2007. |
Xueqi Zhou |
Xueqi Zhou is a Student Employee for the ADVANCE project. She is a PhD student in the department of Economics of the University of Oklahoma. Xueqi received her bachelor degree from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, China in 2006. |
Lauren Blackwell |
Lauren Blackwell is a graduate research assistant for the ADVANCE project. She was born in Oklahoma, grew up in Houston, and came back to the University of Oklahoma to obtain undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology. She is currently in a doctoral graduate program at OU studying Industrial/Organizational Psychology with interests in workplace discrimination and counterproductive work behavior. On her off-time, she loves sports (especially Sooner football and Astros baseball), being active, and traveling. |

Catherine Mavriplis |
Catherine Mavriplis was an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the George Washington University. She holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the M.I.T. A few years ago, she relocated to Oklahoma as the trailing spouse in a dual-career STEM couple. She has four children. She has developed several lines of interdisciplinary research based on her expertise in computational fluid dynamics. She has worked to increase the participation of women in STEM academia since 1996 through workshop activities, novel teaching approaches, research internships, graduate student mentoring and other activities. She is presently as Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. |

Teri J. Murphy was a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oklahoma. Her B.S. in Mathematics is from Kent State University. She received her M.S. degrees in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research area is undergraduate mathematics education. She is currently a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Northern Kentucky. |
