Chapter Officer Descriptions

For a more complete description of officer positions, read the Qualifications, Requirements, and Selection Process for Officers. Members who are interested in serving as officers for the following academic year should download and complete the officer application below. Officer applications must be turned in before the February 28th deadline to be considered. The applications can be turned in to University College or can be dropped off at the ALD Table in Couch Cafeteria from 5-7 pm on February 25-28.

President
~Presiding officer
~Helps to create an interest in ALD among members and prospective members
~Maintains good communication between officers, Advisors, and members
~Aware of all facets of Alpha Lambda Delta

Vice President
~Works with the president in planning and executing all chapter business
~Should be knowledgeable in how the organization operates
~Assists with president's responsibilities

Secretary
~Handles all correspondence and records
~Keeps clear, accurate reports of meetings and events
~Is very organized

Treasurer
~Handles the financial affairs of the chapter
~Keeps accurate records for UOSA finding submissions
~Works with the president to prepare the annual financial report

Historian
~Keeps the records of activities of the chapter
~Arranges records in an attractive and informative manner
~Organizes scrapbook for Order of the Torch Award

Publicity Chair
~Handles/Creates ways to inform students of ALD
~Summits advertisements and announcements to OU Daily, detailing ALD events and deadlines

Scholarship Chair
~Manages scholarship application requirements both on local and national level

Elections Chair
~Manages officer application process
~Helps in creating requirements for each officer position

Service Events Chair
~Coordinates academic and service events
~Organizes the number of points for each event

Webmaster
~Maintains the chapter website
~Keeps a working electronic communication medium (listserv or mailing list of members)
