2009 Scholarship Recipients
Students are the heart of everything at the University of Oklahoma. Generous gifts from OU alumni to the Campaign for Scholarships are keeping the doors of opportunity open to deserving students, and OU Alumni Clubs are among important scholarship donors. Last year our clubs and societies awarded approximately $400,000 in scholarships to students at OU. Alex Ainsworth
Hometown: Weatherford, TX
Major: Chemical Engineering
Class of 2013
Dream: Work with or for EWB (Engineers Without Borders) Clean Water Project.
On Scholarships: This scholarship has relieved my family of the stress of trying to provide for out-of-state tuition.
Alex has received the OU Club of Ft. Worth Scholarship.
Brandon P. Ranallo
Hometown: Haileyville, OK
Major: French Language/Political Science
Class of 2013
Dream: Work in the peace corps following graduation, hopefully in either francophone Africa or Haiti. After that, work in Washington, DC as either a senator or for State Department.
On Scholarships: Scholarships have made my plans for a post-secondary education a reality. A working class student from rural OK needs opportunities like these to meet his/her full potential.
Brandon has received a scholarship from the OU Club of McAlester.
Brittany Vertin
Hometown: Richardson, TX
Major: Finance and Accounting
Class of 2011
Dream: To work for a major financial institution or accounting firm and eventually obtain an MBA.
On Scholarships: This scholarship helps with the hardship of out-of-state tuition and makes paying for college a lot easier.
Brittany is the recipient of an OU Club of Dallas Scholarship.
Allison Irwin
Hometown: Frisco, TX
Major: Business Management; Pre-Dentistry
Class of 2012
Dream: I dream of owning a private family dental practice.
On Scholarships: My scholarship has helped me to remain motivated. My hard work really is paying off!
Allison is a recipient of an OU Club of Dallas Scholarship.
Brenton Roth
Hometown: Lawton, OK
Major: Radiology
Class of 2013
Dream: To become a radiologist.
On Scholarships: This scholarship is going to help greatly with expenses. It will help me focus more on school rather then how I am going to pay for it.
Brenton is the recipient of an OU Club of Lawton Scholarship.
Craig Martin
Hometown: Chandler, AZ
Major: Engineering
Class of 2013
On Scholarships: Having to pay for college myself, I greatly appreciate what the Alumni Association has done for me through this scholarship.
Craig was awarded an OU Club of Arizona Scholarship.
