Sooner Montage Series to support scholarships
The OU Club of Dallas is pleased to unveil the Greg Burns/OU Club of Dallas Sooner Montage Print Series – three works of art specifically commissioned from noted Oklahoma artist Greg Burns – to raise funds for the Club’s “Students Today, Sooners Forever” scholarship fund. The prints present completed montages of scenes from OU’s Norman campus, titled Of Campus Beautiful (pdf) … and … Beautiful by Day and Night (pdf), as well as an OU-Texas Weekend montage, Red River Revelry (pdf).
Burns, an OU graduate and one of Oklahoma’s most noted and admired artists, has done many works featuring OU landmarks, but never a montage of campus scenes. Upon completing Of Campus Beautiful …, Burns noted that there were enough leftover images for a second montage. Thus, … Beautiful by Day and Night continues Burns’ tribute to the OU campus. And, Red River Revelry brings the pageantry surrounding (and including) the Red River Rivalry to life like never before.
Each limited-edition work will be hand-signed and numbered. Only 500 prints will be sold and will never be made available again. Single prints are available (unframed) for $200 each (plus $20 shipping), or patrons may purchase the three-print series (unframed) for $500 (shipping included).
In addition to the signed and numbered edition of 500 prints per montage, Burns has teamed with the OU Club of Dallas to offer an exclusive release of 25 remarqued prints per montage. Each of the remarqued prints has been specially proofed by the artist, and has been complemented with an original sketch by Burns in the margin. Each sketch is unique, thus providing a one-of-a-kind collectible. The remarqued prints (unframed) are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis, at the cost of $500 per print, or $1,500 for the series (shipping included).
All proceeds from the Greg Burns / OU Club of Dallas Sooner Montage Print Series will benefit the OU Club of Dallas “Students Today, Sooners Forever” scholarship fund. In the past two years alone, the OU Club of Dallas has collectively awarded more than 80 scholarships (of $2,000 each) to OU students from the Dallas area.
