The 1923 5-rank Hinners was originally installed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hull, Iowa. The Hinners was a catalog ordered instrument. The youth in the church were paid 35 cents per Sunday to hand-pump the organ. In the 1950s the church building was sold to Vogellaar-Bolin Funeral Home. The entire church, with the organ and furnishings still inside, were loaded onto house moving trucks and rolled down the highway several miles to George, Iowa the site of the funeral home. This unique instrument is has survived the decades unaltered with the exception of the addition of an electric blower after the move. In 2004 the instrument was sold to Judith Finn of Tulsa, Oklahoma and placed in storage. The instrument was donated to the University of Oklahoma in 2008 and is in storage awaiting a new home.
