Tomorrow's industry leaders

The Division of Interior Design faculty provide a professional undergraduate and graduate education in Interior Design within a collaborative, multidisciplinary learning environment. The undergraduate program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, while the graduate program is a post professional degree with areas of concentration in interior design standard, architectural lighting, design process management, or sustainable living. The disciplinary perspectives share a common pedagogy within the College of Architecture divisions, engaging in creative and technical skills that prepare new graduates to solve problems related to global challenges facing the profession of Interior Design.

Lacey Howard, Designer

Lacey Howard

Lacey Howard earned her Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Oklahoma in 2012 and continued on to earn a Master of Science in Interior Design with a focus in Design Process Management from the University in 2014. She developed her passion for design in the undergraduate program and was eager to develop her leadership and management skills through the graduate program. These skills were instrumental in guiding her career path as she was hired as a project manager for the Interior Design department at Mass Architects, Inc. in Oklahoma City after graduation.

Lacey is also an active member of the design community and serves on the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Oklahoma City- City Center Council as the Campus Center Chair. In this position, she is the liaison between students and the professional association. Throughout the council year, she enjoys the opportunity to stay in contact with her Alma Mater and meet the incoming interior design students.

The next step in her career is to become a Registered Interior Designer (RID) in the State of Oklahoma. To do this, she has applied to be a National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam candidate and has passed the first two portions of the exam.  Currently, she is preparing to take the third and final section at the end of September.
