  1. What is rush?

  2. It is usually the first two weeks of a semester consisting of various events organized by the sorority that allows women who are interested in joining the sorority to participate in. It is the time to meet the current sisters of the Chapter and gives an idea of what the Chapter is like.

  3. Why alpha Kappa Delta Phi?

  4. alpha Kappa Delta Phi stands today with 42 Chapters across the Nation, being the Largest Asian-interest sorority. aKDPhi offers many opportunities for leadership and growth both in the sorority as well as on campus, while having the support of over 1500 sisters across the nation.

  5. What kind of girls join aKDPhi?

  6. We encourage any ambitious and motivated women interested in enhancing their years at OU to come Rush aKDPhi.

  7. What can I expect at a Rush event?

  8. Rush Week activities are designed to offer a glimpse of aKDPhi to the university. By setting up opportunities for meeting the members of our chapter, we hope that others will seize the chance to get to know what makes aKDPhi what it is - our sisters. Rush is also a great time to meet a diverse group of new faces. We simply ask you to come prepared with an open mind and heart and to be yourself.

  9. Will rushing aKDPhi cost me anything?

  10. Unilke most other Panhellenic sororites, rushing aKDPhi is absolutely free of charge. Everything from food to transportation is provided by the sorority.

  11. What happens after Rush?

  12. Following an informatl interview, the bidding process begins. Upon acceptance of a bid, a rushee becomes a pledge of the sorority.

  13. What is pledging?

  14. During pledging, pledges of aKDPhi will learn the traditions and history of our sorority as well as build the bonds of sisterhood between the pledge class and with the actives. The pledge period is a time where the best memories and friendships of your college experience are made.

  15. Does pledging affect academics? What is the time commitment?

  16. Like any other extracurricular activity, it is up to you how much time you devote to pledging. The more you put in, the more you get out of it. Pledging does take time, but it is definitely manageable, even with a busy schedule. We understand that we are all here at OU for an education and at no time will we ask you to compromise your academic goals.

  18. Why should you rush for aKDPhi? Contrary to popular belief, there is much more to sorority life than its heavily publicized social side. Becoming a sister of aKDPhi brings many different advantages and experiences.
