life at OU has been interesting. the day after my last entry, the union programming board (the group that organizes events at the oklahoma memorial union) held their annual foam dance party. bright lights. loud music. cold foam. the night was pretty much amazing. i advise not missing out on it, and remember to "dress to get wet."
i had my first test today. for some reason it feels too early to already have an exam. i don't know whether i should be worried or not. i studied and did my best, so i guess there's no use in thinking about it. aside from the test, classes are going well -- 16 hours of fun. after a minor revision of my schedule, the dreaded cross-campus trek became a cross-oval stroll.
oh, and i want to give a shout out to the beloved campus squirrels. these people-friendly mammals will just brighten your day.

the first week of classes was, hands down, the worst week ever. i’m not gonna lie, it was a pretty traumatic experience. jk jk. school’s school – i can’t exactly say that i had the time of my life, but everything went well. i did, however, manage to get lost twice. finding my classes before the semester started would’ve been a good idea. OH well, i’m sure i’m not the only person to head to the dorms and end up on campus corner. good times, good times.
the walker-adams mall (the area between walker and adams towers) became the social event center for the area. since everyone seemed to adopt the whole “i’m new, you’re new, let’s hug” mentality, meeting new people wasn’t a problem. i walked. i talked. i made new friends. i thought high school was great, but college is so much better.

unlike the more responsible crowd, i waited until the night before move-in day to start packing. in a perfect world, i would’ve made a list and checked it twice, but this world isn’t perfect…
… thus, i didn’t make a list OR check it twice. so, of course, i forgot some random stuff at home. oh well, you live, you learn – no use in crying about it.
compared to packing, moving into the dorms was a breeze. come to think of it, a cool breeze would’ve been a godsend while carrying boxes under the summer sun, but I discovered the secret to having a more enjoyable move-in day experience: wear comfortable clothes and drink lots of water.
i’m excited. i’m nervous. i’m tired. i’m a freshman – again. how fun.
