Hello all! Hope you had a cool spring break, because I did. Imagine yourself with crusing in the sun down South Beach in Miami! Me and my friends had so much fun!!! I actually did not plan on going to Miami my freshman year, but that's where I ended up, and it was great!
Until next time this is Tracye signing off star command.
Remember "shoot for the moon!"
Life is such a precious gift. A new life has been added to my family. My brother and his wife had a baby. All the family was so excited, but I think that I'm the most excited. Even though she is my niece, I love her like she is my own. I can't believe that I am an aunt, and I can't wait to spoil her!! Isn't she cute??? Until next time, Shoot for the Moon!!! Hey everyone,
Long time no see. Hope you all's winter break went well. I know mine did. See, that's the the difference between high school and college; in college, when we break- we break! I have been out of school for a whole month and it feels great! Waking up at 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon feel the bomb! The best part is that you don't have to feel guilty about being lazy, because the semester is over and you have no assignments due when you get back! It gives you a little something to look forward to.
Yeah, the sleep was great, but I had the most fun enjoying my first ski trip over the winter break. Man, I had sooo much fun! I went with the college group at the Westside Church of Christ to Breckenridge, Colorado. You all should have seen me bobbing and weaving, cutting them curves, and sliding at the speed of lightening!. I was tearing them slopes up! If you have not already been, skiing should be put on the list of things to do once you get to college. But, until you do go skiing, you can check out my cool pics and imagine yourself having a good time hitting the slopes like I did....

Hey everyone! The first OU game was the BOMB.COM!!!! :0.I mean being surrounded by OU fans, just like me is an experience all in its own. There's really no way to describe the energy you feel when your're standing in the crowd full of crimson and cream, with more than 80,000 fans, with half of us yelling, "BOOMER!" and the rest echo in response, "SOONERS!" back and forth. So instead of me rambling on I'll just show you all a few pics that I took. Plus, I got the top secret incite on a way that you can get in the games FREE!!! I told yall that I would keep you posted and give you ALL the hook-ups!
Ok, now here's how you can have access to free games. It's no joke and it's completely legal:) It's a program called SHARE (students helping athletes reach excellence). In SHARE you are a helper in running alumni tailgate parties. SHARE has sponsors like Chile's and other restaurants that cater food- the food that YOU get to eat. You just help to make sure the vendors have what they need, help clean up, and you get a ticket into the game! That's it! As you can tell by the picture, I got some pretty good seats. Here's a pic of me and some friends that participate in SHARE:
If you have any questions about exactly how to sign up, I'm only a buzz away.....

hey everyone!!!
it's me, tracye, and i'm here to give you all the inside scoop of what the first week of school is all about. i'll start from the beginning and keep it short and sweet.
Of course you're nervous your first day of class as well as the day BEFORE school starts. But, really once you get through that first day you'll see that it's no problem. trust me, i'm timid when it comes to new things that i have to get through on my own, especially because the campus is SOOOO BIG!!!!- or so I thought. I've remembered some of the experiences i've had this past week and i've come up with the
TOP TEN TIPS you will either experience here @ OU, or somethings you should consider for YOUR first week of school:
1) a day or two BEFORE class get a map of the campus, grab a friend, and go scope out your classes so you'll have an idea of where they are.
2 )wake up early enough in order to get breakfast and to arrive @ your class at least 10-30 min. early!!!
3) get a good seat in class- somewhere you'd feel most comfortable learning
4) introduce yourself to your professors
5) for your classes @ night, find a buddy to walk back to your dorm with
6) carry a water bottle with you on your busy class schedule days
7) stay in shape by taking the stairs instead of the elevator
8) set aside time each day to study and do homework ( if you have 40 mins-1hour between classes you can even finish an assignment then)
9) socialize and network with classmates and develop study groups- you'll be surprised of how many students are studying your same major!!
10) finally, take advantage of the FREE tutoring programs right here on campus!!!!
hey, so far the freshman experience is beyond what i could have imagined. you're becoming independent, meeting new people, and exploring new heights. keep your priorities in place and enjoy it to the fullest. although the campus is HUGE, it's no big deal when you go through it a couple of times, plus it's loads of FUN!!! the people are so helpful. you'll be fine!!!

p.s. the 1st OU game is this saturday. you know i'll give you ALL the info!!!

Moving into my dorm on the OU campus was definitely an "emotional" experience. Why is it that moms have to be the ones to cry when something happens? I'm sure I am not the only person to ask this question, and although I can't really understand until I become a parent and have a child of my own, I feel I can answer this question.
Like I said, moving in was a crazy experience. First of all, my family took 4 cars to get me to OU. Maybe you didn't here me. We drove FOUR cars to take the little 35 mile trip from Edmond to Norman! Imagine us trying to get through all of that traffic. We almost looked like a funeral procession. On top of that, we ended up getting to the campus nearly 6 hours before my scheduled time to check in. Wait, the drama doesn't end there. Once we all got into my dorm room, the fun began. While I set up all my stuff, my mom was crying. At that time I just let her quietly cry to herself. Then, later as everyone was leaving my mom started "boo-hooing" again. I couldn't believe that my grown mother was crying like a baby. My younger brother laughed out loud in the background. I bet my mom cried all the way back home because she called me later that day crying, "I love you", "I miss you!." I'm like mom, I'm only down the street!
You know, I laughed when my mother cried about me leaving home, but now I can understand why me moving was so emotional for her. It's hard to see someone you love grow up, leave, and become independent of you. It just shows that my mom cares about me and loves me. It's almost as though we have come to a common ground. She realizes that she has to let go a bit and let me grow up, and I now have a better understanding of where my mother is coming from. I think this experience may have even brought us closer together. Like my mom said, "Yeah, you're growing up, but you're still my baby.." Hopefully this is of help to some of you, and remember, moving out is an experience for both you AND your family.

"Go Shawty, It's Ya Birthday!!!"
I had no clue of what I wanted to do for my birthday party. In fact a few days before I had forgotten that in a couple of day it would be my birthday. However, It all worked out. I found out that a friend of mine has a birthday just a day after mine so we got together, some friends brought some drinks and snacks, we played a game of Gestures, and were the queens for the day, as you can telll in this photo.
Man, I can't believe that I'm already 19 years old. Tomorrow I'll be 20!!! It seems as though time is passing, but I'm going to enjoy every minute of it that I can.

BOOOOO texas:(
I went to the OU/TEXAS game this weekend. Boy, did I have fun, and boy did i spend a lot of money. Me and my girls went shopping, ate at a well known seafood resteraunt called Papadeaux's ( I ate alligator :0- it actually tasted like chicken), we went to the fair, and so on and so forth.
This year I did not buy tickets to the game, which I'm happy about because we LOST:(
I still can't believe OU did not win!!! We've GOT to get them next year!!!
But, please put the OU/Texas weekend on your to do list when you come to OU. You'll have a BLAST!!!
