Architectural Engineering

Architectural Engineers apply scientific and engineering principles to the design and construction of buildings and building systems (e.g. HVAC). Architectural Engineering encompasses topics from various disciplines, including architecture, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.

Through training in and appreciation of architecture, the field seeks integration of building systems within its overall building design. Architectural Engineering includes many design aspects of the building system process. Students are ideally trained in all phases of the life cycle of a building. They learn to appreciate buildings as advanced technological systems requiring close integration of many sub-systems and their individual components.
