Liberal Studies
The Bachelor of Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary degree for adult students. The program is based upon the assumption that adult students are self-directed learners with a high degree of self-discipline and prior knowledge gained outside the classroom. The program focuses on creating graduates who are broadly educated, ready to engage in the responsibilities and duties of active citizenship, effective critical thinkers, and who are adaptable to the changing demands of their workplace and society. The Liberal Studies degree program also emphasizes individual development, communication skills, writing, problem solving, community service, and interdisciplinary study in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.
