Internship AdviceInternships are a great way to gain career-related experience and a professional and relevant work background while completing a college degree. Students can explore their career interests while combining their classroom knowledge with real life work experience. Internships also offer an opportunity to earn academic credit and connect with professionals in the field you wish to pursue.
Career Advisers in Career Services are familiar with careers related to your major and can assist you in choosing a major or career.
To connect you with employers who are committed to hiring from the University of Oklahoma for full-time and internship positions, Career Services hosts or co-hosts a variety of career fairs bringing employer representatives to campus to provide information and answer questions about their industries, organizations, and employment opportunities. Check out our Web page for times, locations and a list of organizations attending. Interviews for full-time positions and internships are often held the day after the career fair.

Come hear advice from the experts at our numerous workshops on a wide variety of topics which are designed to give you the competitive edge. You can also learn more about potential employers through our information sessions and employer spotlights. We also host webinars online to provide you with information about everything from professional dress to interviewing tips to creating a resume.
Our on-campus interview program offers a unique opportunity to interview for entry-level positions as well as internships and co-ops. More than 300 representatives from business, industry, government, and school districts conduct interviews at Career Services in the fall and spring semesters.

Putting your resume in the OU Online Resume Books is the perfect way to ensure that employers are able to reach you when they have hiring needs. With a HIREsooner account you have the ability to upload your resume into resume books based on major for employers to view.

Career Services has established web links to numerous sites that provide job search and career advice for students. We encourage you to use these links to expand your job search for those positions that have not been listed on the Online Job Board in HIREsooner.
