I am working on pollination in Juniperus communis and Juniperus oxycedrus and I am extremely interested in measuring pollen viability of these two species. I obtained not satisfying results with FCR and TTC test nor with DAB test. The main difficulty is related to the presence of a thick intine that reduce the penetration of the reagent inside the grain. Please can you indicate some appropriate test to measure pollen viability in such species?
