Students are responsible for seeking advisement and meeting the deadlines for filing for admission to candidacy with the Graduate College. This form, if properly completed, can be used in lieu of a Graduate College Admission to Candidacy Form. Both the student and the Graduate Liaison for the Interdisciplinary Master of Arts degree must sign this form and present it to the Graduate College no later than the first Monday in March (for summer), first Monday in April (for fall) and the first Monday in October (for spring). Any variances to degree requirements must be supported by separate memorandum from the Graduate Liaison. All information below must be typed or legibly printed.
REQUIRED COURSES: ALL MA degree candidates must complete
a minimum of 18 required credit hours. A list of the required and elective courses
is attached. Students completing courses through the Advanced Programs delivery
system will complete the courses in two-hour increments, with an optional one-hour
course-companion directed reading. Any core courses completed as a Provisional
student will count toward course requirements but cannot be used toward credit
hour requirements. When provisional courses are listed put "PROV" under the
"HOURS" column. Not more than 50% of the total required hours of degree credit
can be "S" graded.

STUDENT: By my signature, I, ___________Sample Student_____(students signature) hereby petition the Graduate College to be admitted to candidacy for the degree of Interdisciplinary Master of Arts with an emphasis in International Relations. By my signature, I confirm that I understand that it is my responsibility to request my comprehensive examination from the College of Arts and Sciences. I understand that I must be enrolled in a minimum of two hours of graduate-level course credit during the semester of my examination or any subsequent second examination. Furthermore, I understand that if my examination is not returned to the Program Director of the Interdisciplinary Master of Arts in sufficient time to be graded within the semester for which my authority was released, I will be required to enroll in a minimum of two hours of graduate-level credit in the next semester. (NOTE: the dates of the semester are defined as those for the Norman Campus. The semesters are typically Spring: January 1-May 31; Summer: June 1-August 15; and Fall: August 16-December 31. (Students must check with the College of Arts and Sciences for specific deadlines.)
Furthermore, I understand that I am responsible for contacting the Program Director of the Interdisciplinary Master of Arts if any of the courses listed on the reverse of this form are canceled, dropped, or I change my enrollments in any way. The Graduate College and/or the Program Director of the Interdisciplinary Master of Arts may amend this form to change the listing of elective and courses if my actual course enrollments do not match the courses listed on the reverse of this form.
