INTERDISCIPLINARY
MASTER OF ARTS DEGREE
WITH AN EMPHASIS IN
INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Admissions
| Applicants
with a GPA between 2.25-2.49 on the last 60 hours of letter-graded
coursework from an earned baccalaureate degree or less than a 3.00
on at least 12 hours of graduate level coursework will be conditionally
admitted to the graduate program in International Relations if they
meet at least two of the following requirements: |
- Document
at least three continuous years of employment with increasing
responsibility in a career field related to the academic discipline
of International Relations.
- Submit
two letters of recommendation that describe professional work
development, work ethics, prior academic performance, and/or
professional skills.
- Submit
a writing sample describing the student's career interests and
how the International Relations degree supports such goals.
- Earn
a satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
for an individual who took the GRE after being out of college
for five or more years. Otherwise, a score generally
at or above 75th percentile score is required.
Students admitted through Alternative Admissions on the basis
of undergraduate coursework will be placed in Provisionally Deferred
status and required to complete six hours of letter-graded graduate
coursework with a GPA of 3.5 or better as described in the section
on the Provisionally Deferred status.
Students admitted through Alternative Admissions on the basis
of graduate coursework will be placed in Conditional Admission
status as described in the section on Conditional Admission.

Students may not apply any coursework taken prior to successful
completion of the application towards a degree at the University
of Oklahoma.
