Ralph E. Cooley Memorial Award
Purpose: To recognize an undergraduate who has demonstrated significant work either in cross-cultural or Native-American language study.
Amount: $250
Requirements:
- -Must have taken the core Communication courses
- -GPA of 3.00 or above
- -Requires a current resume, an unofficial transcript, a faculty letter of recommendation, and a one page typed essay.

Roger Babich Award for Outstanding Undergraduates
There will be two recipients, receiving $250 each. Application requirements:
- Junior Standing or above;
- 3.25 GPA;
- 15 hours of COMM (at least 6 hours of upper-division);
- Letter of recommendation from a COMM faculty member;
- Include an unofficial transcript;
- Include a resume detailing your honors, awards, and involvement in the department, on campus, and in your community.
Scholarly Achievement Awards in Communication
There will be two recipients, receiving $250 each. Application requirements:
- Junior Standing or above;
- 3.25 GPA;
- 15 hours of COMM (at least 6 hours of upper-division);
- Letter of recommendation from a COMM faculty member;
- Include an unofficial transcript;
- Include a resume detailing your honors, awards, and involvement in the department, on campus, and in your community.
Political Communication Heritage Scholarship is awarded to one student who is a major in Communication. The student is awarded this scholarship based on GPA and other academic merits. The applicant must have taken COMM 3003 or COMM 4323. Applications are required and a committee will decide the winner from qualified applicants. Applications are due in April, and the scholarship is open to undergraduates. The scholarship is worth $1,000 and is awarded the following fall semester.
