1. One major decision college freshmen make is whether to live in the dorms, rent a place off campus, or live at home. Compare and contrast any two of these options. Which do you think is the better choice? Why?


2. Fads reveal much about the times in which we live. Select a fad that is popular today. Discuss how this fad reveals the attitudes, beliefs, concerns, or opinions of the nation or world.

3. First impressions are seldom accurate. Think of a first impression you had of a person or place. Compare and contrast your first impression with a second view. Which was more accurate, and how so?

4. Define the word "courageous." Illustrate your definition with examples from personal experience.

5. Some people believe that "little white lies" are necessary. Do you agree? Criticize this assertion. Identify specific instances that support your critique.

6. Trace the development of a particular skill you have "mastered." Highlight specific moments of significant growth or frustration. Then summarize any insights you gained along the way that you can draw upon as you enter OU.
