Peer Critique – Descriptive Details and Dialogue

Read the draft carefully and write responses to the following questions:

1. Is the description of the person/setting sufficiently detailed to give you a clear picture in your mind? Elaborate. (In other words do not answer yes/no!)

2. What details could be improved upon and made more vivid? (Hint: Think of sensory details such as color, sounds, smells.)

3. Do you have any questions about the character of the person or the physical setting that you would like the writer to expand upon as the narrative unfolds?

4. In one or two sentences, evaluate the effectiveness of the writer’s use of dialogue. Give one suggestion for improvement.
