Justin Young

Foundation Fellow 2003-2006  

Mr. Justin Young has a Bachelor’s degree in literature from Evergreen State College in Washington. He received his Master’s degree in creative writing from the City College of New York in summer 2003. He plans to focus his PhD research on composition/literacy/rhetoric. Mr. Young taught as an adjunct instructor at the City College, teaching courses in World Humanities, composition, and English as a Second Language. He also worked as assistant to the director of the creative writing program, and was the literacy coordinator for an after-school program at a Bronx public school.

Since coming to the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Young has presented a paper on digital literacy and civic education at the national College Conference of Composition and Communication. He has also presented at a national conference that focused on the topic of “Spectacle.” Mr. Young is currently an assistant to the Director of First Year Composition.
