Tour Norman
Norman is a town of about
96,000 residents located twenty miles south of Oklahoma City. The area
shows influences of midwestern, southwestern, western and southern
cultures, making it a patchwork of diverse influences. The University's
presence is strong, giving Norman the feel of a college town and the
attendant sense of community. Located in an area that was once called
The Great American Desert, the town experiences hot summers (the
average high in July is 94 degrees F), but mild winters (January's
average high is 50 degrees F) and delightful autumn and spring seasons
(March and November's average temperatures are both around 65 degrees
F), make up for the summer's heat. Clear skies are predominant with an
average of more than 250 days each year classified as either sunny or
partly sunny.
