Daniel Balkwill |
| Dan Balkwill received his B.A. in History in 1993 from the University of Victoria then spent several years researching the Canadian ranching and rodeo industries for the Western Heritage Centre interpretive museum in Cochrane, Alberta. He received his M.A. in History in 2002, from the University of Saskatchewan. His M.A. focused on federal efforts to develop community pastures on the Canadian prairies during the 1930s drought. He is now ABD and finishing a dissertation on the 1950s drought in Oklahoma and the Southwest. In October 2007, he presented a chapter from his dissertation to the Western History Association Conference in Oklahoma City. Mr. Balkwill has taught an independent section of the U.S. Survey (post 1865) and will be offering an upper division course titled “American Environmental History” during the upcoming year. |
