Heather Clemmer received her B.S. in Music Performance in 1995 and her B.A. in History in 1997 from Southern Nazarene University; she then received her M.A. in History in 1998 from the University of Oklahoma. She has presented papers on Civil War music at the Annual Regional Conference of Phi Alpha Theta and the Mid-America Conference on History. She has also presented papers on women in San Francisco during World War I at the Western Association of Women Historians conference and the Annual Conference of the Western History Association. She is currently completing her dissertation, entitled “The City That Knows How”: San Francisco, the Great War, and Urban Identity,with Professor Donald J. Pisani. Ms. Clemmer is also an Assistant Professor and Chair of the History, Politics, and Geography Department at Southern Nazarene University.
