Adam Eastman received his B.A. in History from Utah Valley University in 2003 and his M.A in History from Brigham Young University in 2006. His M.A. thesis focused on the political and environmental controversies surrounding the Central Utah Project, a massive federal water development in Utah. Adam has presented papers on several facets of his research at conferences, including two award winning papers at annual Phi Alpha Theta regional conferences and a paper at the 2007 Western History Association annual conference. An essay based on his thesis is included as a chapter in a forthcoming book Utah History in the Twentieth Century (prospective title) by Utah State University Press. Other publications include a history of the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District published in 2006 and a history of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District which is forthcoming. Mr. Eastman will be completing his PhD. exams this academic year, and plans to complete a dissertation on the impact of the environmental movement on the evolution of federal water policy during the Carter and Reagan administrations.
