Dan Moy

Dan Moy received his B.A. in History and Philosophy from the University of California, Irvine in 1988 and his M.A. in History from the University of Oklahoma in 1998.  His master's thesis examined military fortification strategies in the Levant during the Crusades and represented the culmination of two seasons of archaeological excavation work at Caesarea Maritima, Israel.  He is now ABD, currently working on his PhD in the field of early American History with Prof. Paul Gilje on a dissertation examining the ideological foundations of the American Revolution.  An active duty Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, he served on the faculty at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs as an Assistant Professor from 2002-2005 where he led upper division seminars in Ancient Warfare, The Holocaust, and History of Christianity.  He has presented his work at the Archaeological Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR) and attended fellowships at the West Point Military History Seminar and the George C. Marshall Center for International Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany.
