Allison Garner Stewart received her B.A. in Letters from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 and is now at work on her M.A. in the field of Early American history. She is working with Prof. Cathy Kelly on a project tentatively titled “The Sentimental Novel in the Transatlantic World: An Examination of Hannah Webster Foster’s The Coquette and Samuel Richardson’s Pamela and Clarissa.” The thesis will pay particular attention to issues of sentiment and nationalism in the early American novel in comparison with British literary models.
