Tanya Szafranski received her B.A. in History and Classics from the University of Arkansas in 1997.  She is currently completing her M.A. with a concentration in ancient history under the direction of Prof. A. S. Bradford.  Her thesis deals with the political and social usefulness of victory in horse and chariot races among Archaic and Classical Greek aristocrats.  She presented a related paper at the 2007 Mid-America Conference in History.
