Jana Vogt received her B.A. in Letters in 1997 and her M.A. in History in 1999, both from the University of Oklahoma.  Her M.A. focused on rural Oklahoma women in the 1920s and 1930s, discussing the cultural disparity between the existing rural and urban environments.  She is now ABD and finishing a dissertation that examines the Oklahoma battle over the Equal Rights Amendment, 1972 to 1982.  While working on her M.A. and Ph.D., Ms. Vogt gave several conference papers, including presentations at the Southwest Social Sciences Association and the Mid-America Conference on History.  She has taught independent sections of the U.S. Survey (both pre- and post- 1865).
