Kevin Hooper

Kevin Hooper received his B.A. in History from Providence College in 2012 and completed his M.A. in American History at Providence College in 2014. His M.A. thesis focused on missionary work in the Cherokee Nation during the American Civil War. Kevin is presently a Ph.D. Candidate studying 19th century American History under Dr. Rachel Shelden. His doctoral dissertation explores the ways in which African Americans and Native Americans shaped conceptions of U.S. citizenship in the antebellum period. He is particularly interested in studying constructions of citizenship, race, slavery, and space in the Atlantic World.
