Brenda Lloyd-Jones, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in OU-Tulsa's Human Relations Graduate Department. She teaches Introduction to Human Relations ; Leadership and Organizations , Creative Problem Solving; Presentation Skills; Interpersonal Skills and Group Dynamics and Process Consultation. She is published in the areas of organizational leadership and cultural interaction. Her courses focus on leadership approaches, theories, theoretical and practical information essential for professional consultation and application in organizational settings.

Dr. Lloyd-Jones received her doctorate at The University of Tulsa, where her program in Educational Administration and Research included an emphasis on leadership. She received a M.S. in Audiology and Speech Pathology at Illinois State University and a B.S. in Communication Disorders at Northern Illinois University .

She is a professional speaker, certified mediator, corporate trainer and founding director of People Interaction Institute , a human relations training and consulting company . A life coach, she challenges those with whom she works to produce champion results and has been described as a speaker who has the “extraordinary ability to appeal to all people.” Her programs and presentations are grounded in theory and filled with practical strategies for immediate implementation.

Dr. Lloyd-Jones' past and present participation on several local and national nonprofit boards informs her current research focus, which centers on volunteering and its benefit to both the recipient and the provider. She is equally interested in examining who volunteers and why and in developing ways to make volunteering a more inclusive activity.
