My academic research is in social support of adult students that return to higher education. My doctorate is in occupational and adult education and I love teaching and training. I am the new undergraduate advisor for the Human Relations department (120 and growing) and also teach Intro to HR- Intro to Grad studies and Current Problems in HR. (I also taught at OU in the early 1980's in the department of Human Development). A life goal is to visit, live and experience every part of the world. I love the diversity of the world and the people that I meet. I have been able to see quite a bit of the world as a traveling professor with OU's Continuing Education- Advanced Programs classes in Human Relations.

I worked on an archeology dig in Syria when I was first married To Dr. Dan Snell (He's an ancient historian). I was the paid cook, shopper and “mom" for 24 faculty and students from the University of Chicago and University of Melbourne.

I have two teenagers, one foster daughter now 25, two antique dogs (a Bishon frise and a Golden Retriever) a second chance cat, two pond fish, and a husband who also enjoys traveling and research. I love chocolate, bright colors, unusual textiles and creating community.

My other life before Human Relations was as a Home Economist or "Betty Crocker"--I taught Marriage and Family classes, education classes, and foods and nutrition classes at USAO in Chickasha, OK and in the School of Human Development at OU as the program closed. I was a founding mother in the Women's Studies Program at USAO. I also worked as the administrative assistant for the Women's Resource Center Inc. and was the first Shelter Manager of the Domestic Violence Shelter. I trained briefly at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and owned a catering company here in Norman. I also financed my way through graduate school doing academic advising at OCCC and selling Beauticontrol Image products.
