Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in studying Russian at the University of Oklahoma! The links above should provide you with a lot of information about our program. As you will see, OU offers both a major and a minor in Russian and has bilateral exchange agreements in places that allow students to spend a summer, semester, or an academic-year studying at a Russian higher educational institution. Students pursuing degrees in Russian are eligible for a variety of scholarships and awards. Be sure to check out the scholarship page above for a list of possible funding sources.
Because our program is small, even first-year students receive individualized attention and guidance from faculty. Our instructors want you to get the most you can out of the years you spend at the University of Oklahoma and will work with you to insure that you reach your educational and career goals. Our alumni go on to prestigious graduate and professional programs and find employment in a wide range of fields. For more about post-graduation options, check out the employment and graduate school pages above.
OU has two student associations that cater to individuals with an interest in Russia: Russian Club and the Russian-Speaking Student Association (RUSSA). Each association organizes cultural events and provides students with the opportunity to practice their Russian-language skills.
If you have questions or would like to learn more about our programs and course offerings, please feel free to call (405-325-1486) or email the Russian advisor, Dr. Emily Johnson (emilydjohnson@ou.edu).
