Criteria for Departmental Scholarships
George L. and Cleo Cross Endowed Scholarships
- Full-time undergraduate student majoring in Plant Biology or Microbiology
- Must be at the sophomore level or above and have completed the equivalent of 30 undergraduate hours of credit during the academic year
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Paul G. Risser Scholarship
- Full-time, regularly enrolled student majoring in Plant Biology or Microbiology
- A resident of the State of Oklahoma
- Preference is given to applicants who attended any Kay County High School
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Need for supplemental financial assistance
Margaret Root McKinley Scholarship
- Full-time, regularly enrolled student majoring in Microbiology
- U.S. citizen
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Harrison L. Chance Scholarship
- Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Microbiology; may be full-time or part-time in the upcoming fall semester
- Undergraduates must apply as juniors, and the scholarship is to be used during the senior year.
- Demonstrated high scholastic ability
- Demonstrated financial need
Dr. Larry and Terri Cartmell Scholarship for Medical Technology
- Full-time, regularly enrolled undergraduate student majoring in Microbiology
- Apply as a junior; the scholarship is to be used during the senior year
- Students must plan to pursue a career in medical technology
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need and/or have worked in a research laboratory at the University of Oklahoma
Michael J. McInerney Scholarship
- Full-time, regularly enrolled undergraduate majoring in Microbiology or Plant Biology
- Good academic standing
- Demonstrated financial need
