Dr. Hobson earned her Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters Degree in Guidance & Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hobson has thirty-five years experience in higher education working with American Indian students. Her primary area of interest and research is student development and retention among American Indian students in higher education.  Dr. Hobson has served on numerous committees and task forces regarding retention of American Indian students.  Her current responsibilities at OU as assistant director are to help in the development of the Native American Studies Program. Dr. Hobson was born and raised in Lawton, OK, and is a member of the Comanche Tribe.
