The Native American Studies Program at the University of Oklahoma is an inter-disciplinary bachelor's degree granting program, which draws its courses from a number of departments and colleges across the University of Oklahoma campus.
The University of Oklahoma also offers a master's degree in Native American Studies. The curriculum allows students to expand their knowledge of American Indian cultures and strengthen their skills in writing, critical analysis of arguments and problem solving.
The program allows students to explore a number of disciplinary approaches to the study of Native American tribes and their cultures--anthropological, historical, artistic, philosophical, and political. The core courses in the curriculum represent the major divisions of learning within the University--Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, Literature, and Languages.
