Mind and Matter at the Century's Close

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the fifth David Ross Boyd Lectures, October 5-9, 1998. Professor Jaegwon Kim (Brown University) will present three lectures on mind and matter at the century's close.
- Monday, October 5: "The Mind-body Debate in the 20th century: A Retrospective"
- Wednesday, October 7: "Mental causation and consciousness: The two (not just one) 'Worldknots'"
- Friday, October 9: "Reduction and Reductive Explanation: What must we do to Solve the Mind-body Problem?"
All three lectures will be from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Room numbers will be announced soon. The lectures are free and open to the general public. Professor Kim will also meet with Professor Elugardo's Philosophy of Mind seminar during his visit here.
