tjames@ou.eduTom James joined the Department of Political Science in 1980. He was the director of the Science and Public Policy program from 1989 to 1995, when he became director of the Institute for Public Affairs.
Co-author of Cogeneration and Small Power Production: Technology, Economics, and Politics; Innovation Through Technical and Scientific Information: Government and Industry Cooperation; and The Future of the Sunbelt. Publications have appeared in Policy Studies Journal, Knowledge, Journal of Technology Transfer, Impact Assessment Bulletin, and Environmental Impact Assessment Review.
Current research interests include performance indicators for state and local service delivery, evaluation of juvenile justice programs, state strategic planning for pollution prevention, the development of policy analysis capacity in state and local governments.
