Teaching political science courses in secondary schools is part of a social studies curriculum rather than a separately organized discipline as at the university level. A student intending to teach at the pre-college level should be pursuing a teacher certification program with a major in political science or another social science. A teacher certification program can be pursued in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as through the College of Education. Interested students should consult with the College of Arts and Sciences (by appointment only), or a counselor in the College of Education.
