Governor Brad Henry's office sponsors an unpaid internship program. Interns must possess good communication skills and be able to work independently. Interns will respond to inquiries and requests from constituents, open and sort mail, answer phones, copy documents and work on various special projects. LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins has an unpaid internship program to acquaint students with the political process as well as to understand the realities of working in a state office. Internships are generally 12–16 weeks in length and are offered year round. Students must be able to work independently, have good communication skills, and have at least moderate computer skills. Interns work with the staff in maintaining data information systems, respond to inquiries and requests from constituents, maintain the reception desk, and are available to assist in various tasks as they arise.

THE CARL ALBERT PUBLIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The Carl Albert Public Internship Program offers internships in state agencies in a variety of capacities. Undergraduates are employed for one or two academic semesters, and graduate students are employed for six months to two years. Following acceptance of applications by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), students are responsible for finding their own positions by contacting agencies themselves. Salaries vary.
