Possible Topics for Research Papers

The Oklahoma State Department of Health, Tobacco Use Prevention Service in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has graciously agreed to provide a variety of data sources on state tobacco statistics to be used by OU-Norman MPA students in the writing of their final research papers for the MPA degree.

Possible data that may be assessed and utilized for final research paper includes: Oklahoma school tobacco policy and curriculum assessment, data on law enforcement efforts to curtail youth access of outlets that sell or likely to sell tobacco to minors, county tobacco use profiles, tobacco related Oklahoma newspaper article analyses, health plan smoking cessation benefits including tribal clinics, etc, disparate group analyses of tobacco use, birth certificate data, death certificate data, health plan data, employer data, Native American smoke shops, statewide retailer enforcement training survey, clean indoor air monitoring of restaurants, worksites [designated smoking vs non-smoking areas] and other public places, faith-based organization activities and stands on tobacco. There may be other data available as it occurs and is provided.
