Cognitive faculty and graduate students maintain research offices in the
Human Cognition Laboratory (HCL). The 28-room facility features a networked computer laboratory
that allows easy file-sharing and Internet access. It includes 12 cubicles, each with a data
collection station, several small group-testing rooms, and a seminar room. Various specialized
equipment are available including a computer-controlled eye movement monitor (that records gaze
duration, scan path, and pupil diameter while operators control systems or view complex displays),
high resolution monitors, and multiple modality response control devices including a 3-D mouse,
a touchscreen, and joysticks.
The HCL houses the Human Cognition and Action Lab, the Decision Processes Lab,
the OU Memory Lab, and the Cognitive Aging Lab.
