The Industrial and Organizational Psychology Program at the University
of Oklahoma currently maintains a complex of rooms devoted to research.
This laboratory space includes a networked computer system with access
for all graduate students. This system is devised to support data
analysis, literature searches, and instrument development. In addition,
the laboratory has meeting rooms available where students, faculty, and
clients can conduct joint design and development work. The program also
has access to the department's shared laboratory facility to conduct studies
on performance, human factors and ability testing. Faculty members in
the area of Industrial and Organizational Psychology are currently conducting
research examining a number of issues bearing on the management and development
of human resources. Some example projects include:
- Developing new procedures for assessing organizational leaders.
- Designing studies to examine small group dynamics.
- Designing new procedures for the development and scoring of life history measures.
