Locations

The MLIS is offered at the University of Oklahoma on both the Norman campus and Tulsa Schusterman campus. Many courses are available online or through flexible scheduling (weekends only, or a mix of in-class and online). Please check the individual semester course schedules for specific information on course offerings.

Televised Instruction

In order to make an American Library Association accredited degree program accessible to a wider geographic area, the School uses state of the art video teleconferencing (VTC) technology to deliver courses. Classes originate
in both Tulsa and Norman. These classes may be disseminated via VTC to other sites located around the state. One site is designated as the originating site. All other sites are termed receive sites. It is the practice of the School of Library and Information Studies to originate at least 1/3 of the class time from the receive site. Use of this technology provides students the opportunity to participate in technology providing one of the delivery modes anticipated to increase in use, especially in K-12 and higher education settings.
