Welcome to the University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies Alumni Association web site! The Association was established to provide information to our School’s alumni and to provide support for the School. Our Executive Board members welcome questions or comments from alumni, current students, or anyone interested in our organization.
To provide information to our alumni we publish these newsletter columns on this site several times a year:
- Alumni News - We are gathering and posting news and updates from our alumni. Please share your information and accomplishments with other SLIS alumni by filling out a brief form. Even if you do not want your information posted to the website, please use this form to let us know your current contact information. If you check the box at the end of the form, we will not post your information to the website.
- Alumni Listserv - We have created a listserve that any alumni can join to keep up with current information about the association and SLIS. You can download a PDF file with directions for joining the listserv here.
- LIS Jobs Listserve - You can subscribe to the OU LIS Jobs listserve to receive email announcements about open positions in a variety of Library jobs, including SLM, Academic Libraries, Public Libraries and many others. You can download a PDF file with directions for joining the listserv here.

To carry out our purpose in providing support for the OU SLIS program and students, we sponsor the following awards/activities:
- Annual Student Paper Competition
- Annual recipient chosen for the Outstanding Alumni award program
- Annual Alumni reception held at the Oklahoma Library Association Conference each spring
- Annual Alumni Association meeting held at the SLISebration
Please consider joining your OU SLIS Alumni Association; the dues help fund scholarships and awards. Also, this will help you remain connected to the School and to your fellow alumni.
